FAQs

Question: I would like to begin my psychotherapy journey, but I do not live in New York or New Jersey. Can I still see you for individual psychotherapy or couples therapy?

My apologies. For individual and couples therapy, my license is only for New York, and New Jersey-based clients only.

Question: I am a coach, interested in working with you to develop a performance care program for my athletes and myself. How can we work together?

We’ll begin with a 30-min discovery call. We will talk about you and your team’s needs, and develop a performance care plan together.

Question: I am an athlete, specifically interested in some coaching sessions for focusing and performance. How can we work together?

We’ll begin with a 30-minute discovery call to discuss you, your goals, and current practices. Then we’ll develop a focusing and performance plan together.

Question: I do live in New York/New Jersey/Connecticut, and I’m interested in starting therapy, but I’ve never been in therapy before. What can I expect?

We’ll begin with a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer any questions you may have. Next, you’ll complete an intake packet and we’ll meet for an initial consultation. If we decide to move forward, we’ll work together to customize your therapy plan and journey.

Question: How often do I have to come to therapy? How long will therapy take?

Every client’s journey is unique; some are short-term, some are longer-term. Together we will design your distinct treatment goals and plan. Usually clients begin with once per week therapy, and in general, the more work clients do in between sessions, the quicker clients begin to notice changes.

Question: I don’t have any of the insurances seen on Alma. What should I do?

Please call your insurance company to ask about “out-of-network reimbursement.” If your insurance offers that, ask them: 1. the amount they will reimburse you per session, and 2. how to file the claim. We can work on the fee together, and I will provide you with an invoice for your claims.

Question: Do you see young children for psychotherapy?

My apologies. I primarily see adults – 18 years old and over – for individual and couples therapy, and I work with athletes who are 14 year old and over. However, if you are seeking referrals for younger children, I can pass along some ideas.
