Reading Roster: Empowering Youth Coaches through Sport Psychology Insights

“Sport Psychology for Youth Coaches, Developing Champions in Sports and Life,” by Ronald E. Smith and Frank L. Smoll

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Highly recommended!

This is a great read for ANY adult who is involved in the development of an athlete. Smith and Smoll encourage coaches and guardians toward an ideology and practice of “mastery development” over “results development,” guiding the athlete toward accomplishing small-step goals with support and collaboration.

Smith and Smoll provides practical advice on relationship dynamics, program structure, and team expectations. A strong whole-person perspective, definitely check this one out!
